Ultraman: Towards the Future on SNES is basically a love letter to the old-school tokusatsu show—big rubber suits, dramatic poses, and all. You pick from a roster of Ultraman heroes and kaiju, then duke it out in these weirdly detailed cityscapes that look like they’re straight out of the TV series. The controls are simple—mostly punches, kicks, and signature beams—but timing those finishing moves just right feels so satisfying.
Some of the hit detection is a little janky (classic SNES fighting game stuff), but there’s something charming about how faithfully it recreates the show’s vibe. The music’s all dramatic horns and synths, and the sprite work actually holds up pretty well. If you grew up with Ultraman or just dig retro fighters, it’s a fun little time capsule.
