About Uchuu No Kishi Tekkaman Blade (japan)
Uchuu No Kishi Tekkaman Blade came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Bec. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on anime series, trying to capture the show's action on the 16-bit hardware.
You control the armored Tekkaman Blade, fighting through side-scrolling stages against waves of alien enemies. Your main goal is to clear each area of hostiles, which involves a mix of shooting and close combat. You have a standard energy shot for ranged attacks and a blade for melee, but you don't collect power-ups to upgrade your weapons; you rely on what you start with. The combat can feel stiff, and enemy AI sometimes resorts to constant blocking, which can drag fights out and feels frustrating. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes more from these attritional encounters than from complex patterns. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes clunky brawl against a stubborn opponent.
