About True Lies (europe)
True Lies came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed by Beam Software. It was part of that wave of movie tie-ins on the system, games you'd often rent for a weekend to see if they captured any of the film's energy.
You control Harry Tasker, moving through side scrolling levels to stop a terrorist group. Your main goal is to shoot your way through each stage, clearing out enemies and occasionally defusing bombs. The gameplay mixes standard run and gun action with sections where you drive a motorcycle, adding some variety to the pacing. It's a challenging game; enemies attack frequently and the platforming can be precise. Playing it feels like a straightforward, action packed effort to translate a blockbuster into a solid SNES cartridge.
