Tokoro's Mahjong is one of those SNES hidden gems if you're into traditional Japanese mahjong. The moment you boot it up, you're hit with that classic 90s pixel aesthetic—simple but clean, with those satisfying tile-clicking sounds. It’s not flashy, but it nails the basics.

You start off picking between a few rule sets (good luck if you're not familiar with riichi scoring), and the AI actually puts up a decent fight. I remember losing my first few rounds because I kept forgetting about dora tiles. The solo mode’s solid, but where it really shines is two-player—grab a friend, and suddenly it’s way more chaotic (in a good way).

Definitely a niche pick, but if you’ve ever wanted a no-frills mahjong game with that retro SNES charm, this one’s worth dusting off.
