About Time Trax
Time Trax came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Malibu Games. It was part of that wave of action platformers on the SNES where developers were experimenting with different settings and mechanics. You don't see many games from that period built around time travel in quite this way.
You control a character named Darien, a police officer from the future who chases criminals back through time. Your main goal is to capture these fugitives across different historical eras. The gameplay involves moving screen by screen through side scrolling levels, using a futuristic weapon called the SEL (which can morph into different forms) to fight enemies and solve environmental puzzles. You also collect time fragments to power your abilities and open new paths. The pacing is methodical, with some tricky enemy placements and platforming sections that demand careful timing. Playing it feels like a deliberate hunt through time, where each new area presents a fresh set of challenges to overcome.
