About Time Trax (europe)
Time Trax came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Malibu Games. It was one of many licensed titles from that era, based on a short-lived sci-fi TV show. On a system known for its platformers and RPGs, this game offered a different kind of action adventure.
You control Darien Lambert, a fugitive hunter from the future who is stranded in the present. Your main goal is to capture escaped criminals by stunning them with your weapon, then sending them back through a time portal. The gameplay involves exploring levels screen by screen, using a chargeable pistol and a device called the SELMA for hints. The levels are maze-like, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with limited continues and enemies that respawn quickly. It feels like a constant race against the clock to find your targets before your resources run out.
