About Time Trax (beta)
Time Trax came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Malibu Games. It was part of that wave of games based on TV shows, and it fit right in with the other action titles on the system at the time.
You control Darien Lambert, a lawman from the future sent back to the present day to capture fugitives. The main goal is to track down these criminals across different time periods and bring them in. You explore levels screen by screen, using a futuristic glove weapon to shoot energy blasts at enemies. One of the key mechanics is using a homing device to locate your target in each stage; another is managing your energy shield, which depletes as you take hits. The game moves at a brisk pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, with some enemies swarming you quickly. It feels like a straightforward run and gun challenge where you are constantly watching your health and aiming carefully.
