Time Slip came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, published by Vic Tokai. It was part of that wave of action platformers that filled the system's library, games you'd rent for a weekend and try to finish before Sunday night. You control a young inventor named Slip who pilots a time-traveling mech. Your goal is straightforward: travel through different eras, from prehistoric jungles to a robotic future, to stop an evil villain. The core of the game is navigating side-scrolling levels, screen by screen, while using your mech's extendable arms to punch enemies and grab onto overhead pipes to swing across gaps. You also collect power-ups to enhance your mech's weapons and durability. The pacing is methodical, as you learn the patterns of each enemy and the precise timing needed for your swings; it's not a game you can rush through. Playing it feels like solving a series of small, physical puzzles with your fists.
