About Time Slip (europe) (beta)
Time Slip for the Super Nintendo came out in 1993 from Psygnosis. It was part of that wave of early 90s sci-fi platformers, a time when developers were really pushing what the system could do with large, detailed sprites and complex backgrounds. The game has a very specific look and feel that places it squarely in that era of experimentation on the console.
You control Dr. Vincent Gilgamesh, navigating side scrolling levels across different time periods. Your main goal is to stop the Tiamatians from conquering Earth, which involves moving screen by screen through hostile environments. The signature mechanics include switching between a standard laser pistol and a limited use, more powerful weapon, as well as piloting a small hovercraft in certain stages. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving with precise platforming required. Playing it feels like a methodical trek through a dangerous, animated world.
