About Thunder Spirits (japan)
Thunder Spirits arrived on the Super Nintendo in 1991, developed by Technosoft. It was a conversion of Thunder Force III, a shooter originally for the Sega Genesis, bringing that style of action to Nintendo's 16-bit console during its early years.
You pilot a lone spacecraft through horizontally and vertically scrolling stages, tasked with destroying an alien armada. Your ship can switch between two primary weapon speeds on the fly; a slower, wide shot and a faster, concentrated laser. You collect power-ups to enhance these weapons and add options like protective shields or seeking missiles.
