About The Smurfs 2
I remember picking up The Smurfs 2 for the Super Nintendo back in 1995. It was published by Infogrames, and it felt like a pretty standard licensed game for that era on the SNES. You weren't getting a revolutionary title, just a solid platformer based on the cartoon.
You control a Smurf, switching between different ones like Papa Smurf and Hefty Smurf, each with a unique ability. Your main goal is to rescue Smurfette from Gargamel by navigating through side scrolling levels. The gameplay involves a lot of jumping across platforms, avoiding enemies like bats and spiders, and using your character's special skill to pass obstacles; Papa Smurf can cast a spell to freeze enemies, for example. You collect berries and other items to restore health and earn extra lives. The pacing is methodical, and some jumps require precise timing, making it a bit challenging for a younger player.
