Man, The Ninji Saga on SNES is one of those games that just feels right in your hands. You start off with this little blue ninja who moves way faster than you'd expect—first time I played, I totally faceplanted into a spike pit because I underestimated the momentum. But once you get the rhythm down, darting between enemies and nailing those pixel-perfect jumps is stupidly satisfying.
The shuriken throwing has this weirdly addictive weight to it—not too floaty, not too stiff—and the bosses? Oh man, that first screen-filling samurai dude wrecked me at least five times before I figured out his pattern. The music’s got that classic SNES punch, all bouncy and energetic without being annoying on repeat.
It’s not some hidden masterpiece, but if you miss that era where games didn’t hold your hand and just threw you into the action, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t blame me when you start muttering “one more try” at 2 AM.
