Okay, so imagine A Link to the Past, but instead of running around as Link in his green tunic, you're Samus. Like, full-on Metroid Samus—arm cannon, Varia Suit, the whole deal. It sounds weird at first, but somehow it works? You still slash bushes for rupees and tackle the same dungeons, but now you're blasting Stalfos with charge shots instead of poking them with a sword.
The overworld feels familiar, but little things catch you off guard—like hearing Samus' jump sound effect when you hop off a ledge, or seeing her crouch in that iconic pose when you duck behind a pillar. Some puzzles get tweaked to fit her abilities, and yeah, Ganon's still waiting at the end, but good luck telling him why a bounty hunter from space is meddling in Hyrule's business.
If you've played the original to death, this hack gives you a reason to care about falling down holes in the Dark World again. It's not perfect—some sprite swaps are janky, and the beam upgrades feel a little out of place—but it's way more fun than it has any right to be. Just don't expect Mother Brain to show up.
