Man, The Jungle Book on SNES is one of those licensed games that actually holds up. You play as Mowgli, bouncing through the jungle with that classic Disney charm—vines to swing on, snakes to avoid (Kaa’s level still creeps me out a little), and bananas to collect because… well, I guess jungle kids need snacks too.
The music’s straight from the movie, so you’ll catch yourself humming along between jumps. Some of the platforming gets tricky—Baloo’s barrel-rolling move takes a second to get used to—but it never feels unfair. And the art? For a 16-bit game, they nailed the lush, colorful vibe of the jungle. Just watch out for those sneaky monkeys.
If you grew up with the movie or just love a solid retro platformer, this one’s a blast. Still holds up better than most movie tie-ins from that era.
