Okay, so The Jetsons: Invasion of the Planet Pirates is one of those weirdly charming SNES games that feels like someone took a Saturday morning cartoon and mashed it into a side-scroller. You play as George Jetson (and sometimes the rest of the family), jumping around colorful alien planets, dodging goofy-looking pirates, and blasting them with this weird laser thing that looks like a futuristic hair dryer.
The first level throws you right into it—you’re running through Orbit City while buildings crumble in the background, and the sprites actually look like the cartoon, which is kinda impressive for the time. The controls are a little floaty, but you get used to it. And yeah, there’s some jank—like why does Jane Jetson fight with a vacuum cleaner?—but that’s part of the charm.
It’s not gonna blow your mind, but if you grew up with the show or just love weird retro platformers, it’s a fun little time capsule. Just don’t expect it to be as polished as, say, Super Mario World.
