Oh man, The Itchy & Scratchy Game on SNES is exactly what you'd expect—just pure, ridiculous cartoon violence. You play as Itchy, the sadistic little mouse, smacking Scratchy around with a mallet (and whatever other weapons you stumble on). The levels are these weird maze-like stages full of doors and platforms, and every time you think you've finally taken Scratchy down, he comes back with some over-the-top death machine. Classic.
The weapons are fun—I remember one level where you get a chainsaw, which feels way too brutal for a cartoon cat. The whole thing moves fast, and the controls are simple, but some of those later levels get surprisingly tricky. If you grew up watching these two tear each other apart on The Simpsons, this game nails that chaotic energy.
It’s short, but honestly, that’s probably for the best—any longer and the joke might wear thin. Still, it’s a solid little platformer with a ton of personality.
