Man, The Blues Brothers on SNES is one of those weirdly fun licensed games that actually gets the vibe right. You’re basically Jake and Elwood platforming through Chicago, dodging cops, smashing into stuff, and occasionally breaking into a little dance mid-level—because why not? The controls are a bit stiff (like most 16-bit platformers), but the soundtrack’s got that classic bluesy charm, and some stages even throw in these rhythm mini-games where you gotta tap buttons to the beat.

It’s not the hardest game out there, but some of the later levels get sneaky with obstacles and enemy placements. And yeah, the pixel art’s got that exaggerated cartoon look—Elwood’s hat is basically its own character. If you grew up with the movie, you’ll spot a bunch of dumb little references, like the penguin waiters or the car chases. Just don’t expect a masterpiece—it’s more of a "turn off your brain and enjoy the chaos" kind of game.

Still, for a movie tie-in from the ‘90s, it’s way more fun than it had any right to be.
