About The Blues Brothers
I remember picking up The Blues Brothers for the Super Nintendo back in 1993. It was published by Titus Software, a company that put out a lot of games during that era. This was a time when licensed platformers were everywhere, and this one was based on the movies, though it felt like its own thing.
You control either Jake or Elwood Blues, running and jumping through levels to get their band back together. The main goal is to recover musical instruments stolen by a rival. You move screen by screen, punching enemies and dodging obstacles. Some sections put you in the Bluesmobile for a driving sequence, which breaks up the platforming. The game is known for being quite difficult, with precise jumps and a lot of enemies to manage. Playing it feels like a constant, frantic scramble to stay alive.
