Man, The Adventures of Tintin - Prisoners Of on SNES is such a weird little gem. You start off running around as Tintin, jumping between crates and punching random thugs—which, honestly, feels a bit odd for a reporter, but hey, it works. The sprites are super faithful to Hergé’s art style, all clean lines and bright colors, like the comics jumped right onto your screen.
First level throws you into a shipyard at night, dodging guards and climbing ropes. There’s this one puzzle where you have to stack boxes just right to reach a higher platform, and I totally got stuck for way too long before realizing you could kick them into place. Classic 90s platformer logic.
It’s not perfect—some of the hit detection is janky, and Snowy’s AI might as well be a brick—but there’s charm in the way it mixes brawling, exploration, and those weird little moments where you just… pick up a fish and throw it at someone. If you grew up with the comics, it’s a nostalgia trip worth the occasional frustration.
