If you grew up with the Addams Family movies or just love weirdly charming platformers, this SNES gem is worth a look. You play as Gomez, bouncing around the mansion’s trap-filled halls, dodging swinging chandeliers, and rescuing the rest of the family—each with their own bizarre little animations. Wednesday’s blank stare as she floats in a cage still cracks me up.
The controls take a second to get used to—Gomez has this weird floaty jump that feels off at first, but once it clicks, you’ll be ricocheting off walls like a gothic pinball. And the music? Perfectly spooky carnival vibes. Some of the later levels get downright mean with the platforming, but that’s part of the fun. Just don’t expect Thing to lend a hand when you’re stuck.
It’s not the deepest game, but the atmosphere nails that Addams Family mix of creepy and silly. You’ll probably finish it in an afternoon, but it’s a great one to revisit when you’re in the mood for something short and weird.
