Tamagotchi Town on SNES is basically the pixelated grandparent of all those virtual pet apps you’ve tapped at over the years. You get this little blob of a creature that starts as an egg, and suddenly you’re obsessing over whether it’s hungry, bored, or needs a nap—like some kind of digital helicopter parent.
The controls are dead simple (d-pad and two buttons), but don’t let that fool you. One minute you’re feeding it snacks, the next you’re frantically cleaning up its… messes before its mood plummets. And if you ignore it too long? Let’s just say the game isn’t shy about guilt-tripping you with a sad, pixelated frown.
It’s got that weirdly addictive loop where you swear you’ll put it down after five minutes, but then you’re still there an hour later, trying to unlock the secret mini-games. The nostalgia hits hard if you ever owned one of those keychain Tamagotchis back in the day, but even if you didn’t, there’s something weirdly satisfying about keeping a tiny digital thing alive. Just don’t blame me when you start hearing its beeps in your sleep.
