Taiwan 16 Mahjong II - Horoscope Girls Edition is one of those weirdly charming SNES deep cuts. At first glance, it's just mahjong—tile matching, clearing the board, all that—but then you notice the zodiac theme and realize every opponent is a different anime-style horoscope girl. Some of their designs are... let's just say very 90s.

The gameplay's solid if you're into mahjong variants, though it's definitely more about the vibes than hardcore strategy. You pick your zodiac girl (I went with Scorpio because she looked the most done with everyone's nonsense), and then it's just you, some relaxing music, and a grid of tiles to clear. The backgrounds change depending on who you're playing against, which is a nice touch.

Not gonna lie, the horoscope stuff doesn't really affect the game much, but it gives the whole thing this oddly specific personality. If you dig retro mahjong games or just want something different for your SNES collection, this one's got character.
