Super Wagyan Land 2 is one of those weirdly charming SNES platformers that never got enough love. You play as this goofy little dinosaur—Wagyan—who waddles and jumps through these bright, almost dreamlike levels full of floating platforms and enemies that look like they escaped from a toy box.

The controls feel a little stiff at first, but once you get used to Wagyan’s weight, bouncing on enemies and collecting those little star things becomes oddly satisfying. Some of the later stages get surprisingly tough, especially when the screen starts auto-scrolling and you’re scrambling to keep up.

It’s not as polished as Mario or Donkey Kong, but there’s something about the weird enemy designs and the way the music shifts between cheerful and slightly eerie that sticks with you. If you’re into obscure 16-bit platformers, this one’s a fun little time capsule.
