Super Wagan Land 2 is one of those weird, charming SNES platformers that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this goofy energy that’s hard not to love. You play as a little blue blob (Wagan) who can stretch and bounce around levels, collecting fruit and dodging enemies that look like they escaped from a kid’s sketchbook.
The controls take a second to get used to—your jumps feel floaty at first, but once you figure out how to stretch mid-air to reach platforms, it clicks. Some of the later levels get surprisingly tricky, with spikes and moving platforms that’ll wreck you if you’re careless. The music’s upbeat in that classic SNES way, all bouncy synths and peppy melodies.
It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something satisfying about nailing a tricky stretch-jump or finding a hidden bonus room. If you’re into obscure retro platformers, this one’s worth a look.
