Super Volley II is one of those early SNES sports games that somehow nails the chaotic fun of volleyball without taking itself too seriously. You pick from these weirdly expressive anime-style teams—I always went for the guys in the neon pink jerseys because, why not? Matches are fast, the controls are simple (just a couple of buttons for spikes and jumps), and the ball physics are hilariously floaty. Not exactly a sim, but great for quick matches when you want something arcadey.
It’s got that classic 16-bit charm, with courts that look like they’re straight out of a Saturday morning cartoon. The Japanese version adds some extra flair, like goofier victory animations. If you’re into retro sports games, this one’s a solid time-waster.
