Super Turrican 2 is one of those SNES games that just feels good to play—tight controls, chunky explosions, and that classic run-and-gun chaos. You start off with this ridiculous arm cannon that melts enemies, and before long you're swinging across gaps with a grappling hook or rolling into a spiked ball to plow through walls. The levels throw everything at you: underwater sections, zero-gravity zones, even a few "oh crap, run!" moments with screen-filling bosses.
It’s got that perfect '90s arcade energy—no tutorials, no hand-holding, just pure action. The music slaps, too—synth-heavy tracks that somehow make shooting alien bugs even more satisfying. My only gripe? Some of the later stages get brutal, but in that way where you want to retry just to nail the timing. If you missed this back in the day, it’s aged way better than most SNES shooters.
