Super Turrican 2 is one of those SNES games that still makes me wonder how they pulled it off. The explosions, the voice samples, the way the screen twists and warps—it’s like the devs squeezed every last drop out of the hardware. And that soundtrack? Pure 16-bit adrenaline, especially with the Dolby Surround cranked up.
You start off blasting through alien hordes with this ridiculous arsenal—flamethrowers, lasers, even a grappling hook that lets you swing around like some space-faring Tarzan. The first level throws so much at you, but somehow it never feels unfair. Just pure, chaotic fun.
Honestly, it’s one of those games that makes you appreciate how far they pushed the SNES before the next gen rolled in.
