About Super Troll Islands (beta)
Super Troll Islands (Beta) came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Kemco. It was one of many platformers from that era, a time when developers were experimenting with cooperative multiplayer in side scrolling adventures.
You control one of four trolls, each with a unique ability, and your goal is to clear a corrupting mist from the island. You do this by walking over patches of the mist, which cleanses them. The game is built on screen by screen exploration, where you navigate platforms, avoid enemies, and use simple combat, sometimes with a bow. You also collect items and delve into dungeons to progress. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, demanding careful movement. Playing it feels like a slow, deliberate effort to restore a broken landscape.
