Super Tetris 3 on SNES is basically Tetris, but cranked up—like someone took the original and sprinkled in just enough new stuff to make it feel fresh without ruining what worked. You still get those satisfying line clears, but now there are weird new block shapes that mess with your usual stacking strategies. At first, I kept trying to play it like regular Tetris and kept getting wrecked by the new pieces.
There’s this one mode where the blocks fall faster every time you clear a line, and by level 10, it’s pure panic. My hands were sweating, and I may have yelled at the screen a few times. The music’s still that same hypnotic synth loop, but somehow it never gets old. If you’ve played Tetris before, you’ll either love the chaos or resent the changes—no in-between.
It’s the kind of game where you say “one more round” at midnight and suddenly it’s 2 AM.
