About Super Tetris 3
Super Tetris 3 came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, developed by TOSE. It was one of several Tetris variations released during that period, a time when puzzle games were a staple of the SNES library. This version tried to build on the familiar formula with some new ideas.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to create solid horizontal lines that then vanish. The main goal is to survive as long as possible by clearing lines and preventing the stack from reaching the top. A couple of its signature mechanics include a two-player versus mode where you can send garbage lines to your opponent, and a special stage mode that changes the playfield or introduces different block types. The game starts gently but the speed increases steadily, demanding quicker decisions. It feels satisfying to lock a piece into a tight space and watch multiple lines disappear at once.
