About Super Tetris 2 And Bombliss
Super Tetris 2 And Bombliss came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992, published by Bullet-Proof Software. It was part of a wave of puzzle games on the SNES that tried to expand on familiar formulas, offering more than just the standard Tetris experience. This release combined two distinct modes into a single cartridge, giving players two different ways to test their stacking skills.
You control the falling tetrominoes, rotating and shifting them to create solid horizontal lines. The main objective is to clear lines to prevent the stack from reaching the top of the playfield. In the Bombliss mode, special bomb blocks appear; clearing a line containing a bomb causes it to explode, removing a chunk of blocks around it. The game can start calmly but quickly escalates in speed, demanding faster decisions as the blocks pile up. It feels like a constant race between your planning and the game's accelerating pace.
