Super Tennis on SNES is one of those classic sports games that just feels right. You pick your player—some are power hitters, others are quick but weaker—and jump straight into the Circuit mode where you’re grinding through tournaments to climb the rankings. The controls are simple at first (A for topspin, B for slice), but timing and positioning actually matter if you want to place shots well.
The courts all look distinct, from clay to grass, and the ball physics change just enough to keep you adjusting your playstyle. I remember getting wrecked by the AI at first because I kept charging the net like an idiot—turns out, patience pays off. The music’s got that early ‘90s SNES charm too, all bouncy and upbeat. It’s not flashy, but it’s solid tennis without the fluff.
