Super Strike Eagle on SNES is one of those games that makes you feel like a fighter pilot without needing a flight manual. You jump right into the cockpit, and suddenly you're dodging missiles while trying to lock onto enemy jets—it's chaotic in the best way. The controls are surprisingly smooth for a 16-bit flight sim, though I still crash into mountains more often than I'd like to admit.
What I love is how missions mix dogfights with bombing runs—one minute you're weaving through flak fire to take out a tank column, the next you're in a desperate spiral duel with a MiG. The pixelated explosions somehow never get old. Just don't expect realism; this is pure arcade-style action where pulling off a last-second missile dodge feels as good as landing the perfect combo in a fighting game.
It's definitely a product of its time, but if you miss that era of straightforward, no-frills action, this one's still a blast.
