Super Slapshot is one of those weird, Japan-only SNES sports games that somehow nails the chaotic fun of street hockey. You pick from these over-the-top teams (of course I went with the samurai first) and just go wild slapping the puck around tiny rinks with way too many power-ups. The controls are simple—pass, shoot, check—but matches get ridiculous fast when someone grabs the fire puck or suddenly grows giant.
It’s got that early ‘90s vibe where everything’s bright, loud, and slightly unbalanced in the best way. Found myself laughing way more than I expected, especially when my goalie decided to teleport instead of block. Definitely not a deep sim, but perfect for quick matches when you want something silly.
