About Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu Remix (bs)
Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu Remix (BS) came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1996, developed by Compile. It was part of a late era for the SNES, a time when puzzle games were really finding their footing on the console. This version was actually broadcast via satellite in Japan, which felt like a glimpse into a different way of getting games.
You control the falling pairs of colored blobs, maneuvering them to create chains of four or more of the same color. The main goal is to clear your own screen while sending nuisance puyo over to your opponent's side to disrupt them. Key mechanics include the ability to offset incoming garbage by making your own chains, and the all-important "Ojama" puyo that clog your board. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty ramps up sharply against clever computer opponents or a skilled human rival.
