Super Puyo Puyo 2 is one of those SNES games that looks cute but will absolutely wreck you if you’re not careful. You drop these little jelly-like blobs (puyos, obviously), matching colors to make them disappear—simple, right? Then suddenly, you’re sweating because your opponent just set off a 10-chain combo and your screen’s about to fill up with garbage puyos.
The music’s got that classic early ‘90s charm—peppy, slightly chaotic, and weirdly motivating when you’re in the middle of a close match. And the AI? Brutal. Even the early opponents don’t mess around, so don’t expect a slow warm-up.
Best part? Two-player mode. Nothing like watching a friend panic as you casually set up a massive combo while they’re still figuring out how to stack properly. It’s the kind of game where you’ll lose track of time, then realize you’ve been muttering “just one more round” for the past hour.
