Super Punch-Out!! came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Nintendo. It was part of that era on the SNES where you saw a lot of polished sequels to earlier arcade and NES games, and this one built directly on the Punch-Out!! formula.

You control a young boxer working his way up through the World Video Boxing Association ranks. The main goal is to defeat every opponent in the circuit to become the champion. The core mechanics are reading enemy tells, dodging their attacks, and landing counter punches when they are vulnerable. You learn specific patterns for each fighter, like when Gabby Jay staggers after a punch or when Bob Charlie leaves his jaw open. The game moves quickly, and the difficulty ramps up sharply, demanding precise timing and memorization. It feels sharp and responsive when you finally get a fighter's rhythm down and start landing those satisfying three-hit combos.
