Super Professional Baseball is one of those SNES baseball games that flew under the radar outside Japan, which is a shame because it's way smoother than you'd expect from a Jaleco sports title. The pitching mechanics actually feel tight—none of that floaty nonsense—and the fielding animations have this satisfying snap to them.
Weirdly, it’s the sequel to Super Bases Loaded, but not Super Bases Loaded 2 (yeah, Japanese naming conventions strike again). If you’ve played the first one, you’ll recognize the same clean menus and quick gameplay, just with slightly better sprites and less jank when stealing bases.
No MLB licenses here, so all the teams are fictional, but the AI actually puts up a decent fight on higher difficulties. Just don’t expect a home run derby—this one leans more toward small-ball tactics.
