About Super Pinball - Behind The Mask (rev A)
Super Pinball: Behind the Mask came out for the Super Nintendo in 1994, published by Meldac. It was one of the few dedicated pinball games on the system, arriving at a time when developers were experimenting with how to translate the physical feel of a pinball machine into a 16-bit cartridge.
You control the flippers at the bottom of the screen, trying to keep the ball in play across three distinct tables. The main goal is to score as many points as possible by hitting targets, ramps, and bumpers. Each table has its own layout and special modes; one table features a horror theme with a mask that can be removed to reveal different scoring opportunities. The game uses a multi-screen setup, so the ball can travel to upper and lower playfields, changing the view and available shots. It is a fast game, and the ball drains quickly if you are not precise. Playing it feels like a genuine test of your timing and ability to read the table's geometry.
