Man, Super Off Road on SNES takes me back. You start with this chunky little truck that fishtails like crazy if you gun it too hard, and suddenly you're sliding around dirt tracks with mud spraying everywhere. The top-down view makes it feel like you're controlling a toy, but in the best way—you can see the whole track, but those tight corners still catch you off guard.
At first I thought the handling was weird, but after a few races, you get the hang of throwing your truck into drifts. And upgrading your ride with prize money? That’s the real hook. You start scraping by with a slow clunker, and before long you’re blowing past the AI with a souped-up monster truck. The two-player mode is where it shines, though—nothing beats shoving your buddy into a barrier on the last lap.
It’s simple, chaotic, and way more fun than it has any right to be. If you’ve got a SNES and a friend nearby, this one’s a no-brainer.
