Super Momotarou Dentetsu III is one of those classic Japanese board game hybrids that somehow makes buying train stations and rolling dice way more fun than it sounds. You’re basically playing Monopoly, but with a quirky Japanese folklore twist—think demons, lucky dice rolls, and cartoonish train routes. The first time I booted it up, I had no idea what half the items did, but watching my little train chug along while rivals got hit by random events had me hooked.
It’s got that old-school SNES charm—bright colors, janky but endearing animations, and a soundtrack that’ll get stuck in your head. If you’ve ever played the Momotarou series before, this one refines the formula with better pacing and some sneaky strategy. Just don’t get too attached to your cash—one bad roll and you’re broke again.
Definitely one of those games where half the fun is seeing what ridiculous thing happens next.
