Super Moero!! Pro Yakyuu is one of those weird, hyper-Japanese baseball games for the SNES that feels like it was made by someone who’d only heard about baseball in passing. The players have these ridiculous exaggerated animations—like, when they swing, their whole body contorts like a cartoon character getting hit by a truck. And the announcer? Just yelling random Japanese phrases with way too much enthusiasm.
It’s not exactly a deep sim, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top everything is. The fielding is janky, the pitches sometimes defy physics, and I’m pretty sure the umpire is biased. If you’re into retro sports games with personality (and maybe a little broken), this one’s a trip.
