Okay, so imagine Super Metroid—but someone shook the whole planet like a snowglobe. That’s basically this game. Samus still does her thing—exploring, blasting aliens, hunting power-ups—but now everything’s buried under this eerie, glittering snow. The usual lava pits? Frozen over. The creepy tunnels? Icicles dangling everywhere. Even the music feels colder, somehow.
At first, I thought it’d just be a reskin, but the snow actually changes how you play. Some enemies move slower, others leave frost trails that mess with your jumps. And good luck finding hidden passages when everything’s covered in white. It’s familiar enough to feel like home, but just different to keep you on your toes.
If you’ve played the original to death, this is the perfect excuse to dive back in. Just don’t forget your thermal visor.
