Super Metroid Advent on SNES is one of those games that just sticks with you. The moment you drop into that eerie, alien world as Samus, you know you're in for something special—the atmosphere is thick, the music hums with tension, and every corridor feels like it's hiding something.
At first, you’ll probably fumble a bit with the controls (that wall jump still trips me up sometimes), but once it clicks, moving through Zebes feels incredible. You’ll backtrack, find upgrades in places you swore were empty before, and suddenly realize you’ve been holding your breath during boss fights. And that first encounter with the Metroids? Pure adrenaline.
It’s not just about blasting aliens, though. The way the game nudges you toward secrets without holding your hand makes every discovery feel earned. I still remember stumbling into that hidden missile tank behind a fake wall and feeling like a genius.
If you’ve never played it, you’re in for a masterclass in how to do exploration right. Just don’t blame me when you lose track of time.
