Super Mario World Ultimate Mayhem 2 is one of those wild ROM hacks that takes the original game and cranks the chaos up to 11. You still get the classic Mario platforming, but now with way more enemies, brutal level designs, and some truly ridiculous power-ups. I remember jumping into the first level thinking it’d be familiar—nope, instantly swarmed by a dozen Goombas and a flying Bowser head. Good times.

It’s not for the faint of heart, though. The difficulty spikes hard, and some of the hidden exits feel like they’re trolling you. But if you’ve played the original SMW to death and need something fresh (and kinda unfair), this’ll keep you busy. Just don’t throw your controller.
