Super Mario World 2 Plus Game

Super Mario World 2 Plus is one of those SNES hacks that actually feels like a proper sequel—not just some random level edits. It takes the original game’s mechanics but throws in new power-ups, tougher enemies, and these wild secret exits that’ll have you poking at every corner of the map. The first time I played, I got wrecked by a surprise Piranha Plant in what looked like a totally safe pipe. Classic Mario troll move.
What’s cool is how it remixes familiar levels just enough to keep you on your toes, but doesn’t go full Kaizo with impossible jumps. You still get that smooth, floaty Mario feel, just with way more Yoshi options. Pro tip: Hold onto the blue one for water levels unless you enjoy drowning repeatedly.
If you’ve rinsed the original SMW and want something fresh without needing frame-perfect reflexes, this romhack’s a solid pick.
