Play Super Mario World - Massimo Online

Super Mario World came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in the early 1990s, developed and published by Nintendo. It was one of the games that really showed what the new console could do, with bigger levels and more colors than what we were used to on the NES. It felt like a natural step forward for Mario, arriving at a time when side scrolling platformers were the standard.

You control Mario, or sometimes Luigi, running and jumping through the levels of Dinosaur Land. The main goal is to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, which means traveling across a large overworld map, completing stages, and finding secret exits to unlock new paths. A couple of its signature mechanics are the spin jump, which lets you break certain blocks from below, and the cape feather, which gives you the ability to fly after a running start. You also ride Yoshi, who can eat enemies and, if you find the right colored shell, spit fire or fly for a short time. The pacing is generally smooth, though some of the later castles and special stages present a real challenge. Playing it feels like a constant, rewarding discovery of hidden items and alternate routes.
