Super Mario World - Intrigue Game

Super Mario World - Intrigue is one of those weird, unofficial ROM hacks that takes the classic SNES game and twists it into something new. At first glance, it looks like the Mario you remember—same sprites, same music—but then you start noticing the changes. Levels are rearranged, secrets are hidden in places they shouldn’t be, and some of the enemy placements feel downright sneaky.
I jumped in expecting a quick nostalgia trip and ended up scratching my head at some of the level designs. The difficulty spikes in weird spots, and there’s this one ghost house that had me running in circles for way too long. But if you’ve played the original to death and want something that keeps you guessing, it’s a fun little twist on the formula.
Just don’t go in thinking it’s a polished official release—this is very much a fan-made "what if?" experiment.
