Super Mario World - Chaos CompleXX is one of those wild ROM hacks that takes the original game and cranks the chaos up to 11. You still recognize the levels, but everything's scrambled—enemies in weird places, hidden blocks where you least expect them, and some brutal platforming sections that’ll make you question your muscle memory. The first time I played, I got wrecked by a random Piranha Plant in the first level because, surprise, it wasn’t there in the original.

If you’ve played Super Mario World to death and want something fresh without losing that classic feel, this is a solid pick. Just don’t go in expecting a chill nostalgia trip—it’s more like Mario on hard mode with a few mean surprises. Still fun, though, if you like a challenge.
