About Super Mad Champ
I first played Super Mad Champ on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1995. It was published by Givro, a name I didn't see too often. The game came out during that later part of the SNES lifespan when developers were really pushing what the hardware could do, and it fit right in with other action platformers of the time.
You control a small, determined character who runs and jumps through a series of single-screen rooms. The main goal is to navigate these compact, self-contained challenges to reach the exit, which often requires clearing the screen of all enemies. Your primary tools are a simple sword for close combat and a limited-use projectile weapon for hitting distant foes. The game is built on screen-by-screen exploration; you move to the next area only after solving the puzzle or defeating the enemies in your current room. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be sharp, demanding precise jumps and quick reactions to enemy patterns. It feels like a focused test of your timing and spatial awareness.
