Okay, so this is a weird little SNES demo that never got a full release—Super Luigi World. You play as Luigi (obviously) in this short, dreamy platformer that feels like someone took Super Mario World and gave it a green-tinted makeover. The physics are floatier than Mario’s, which actually makes some of the jumps way more forgiving, but the levels are packed with those classic SNES-era secrets—hidden blocks, alternate paths, the works.
Graphically, it’s pure nostalgia—bright colors, chunky sprites, and that slightly off-kilter vibe you get from unofficial hacks or lost prototypes. The demo’s short, maybe 15 minutes if you rush, but there’s this one level with bouncing mushrooms that still trips me up every time. If you’ve ever wondered what a Mario game would feel like if Luigi finally got his own weird little adventure, this is it.
Just don’t expect Bowser at the end—it cuts off right when things start getting interesting.
