Super Kyoutei is one of those weird, hyper-Japanese SNES games that never made it overseas—which is a shame, because it's basically a turbo-charged version of air hockey with way more chaos. You pick from these oddly specific paddle designs (I went with the samurai helmet first, obviously), and then it's just pure reflex smacking a puck back and forth at ridiculous speeds. The physics get kinda wild when the puck starts ricocheting off multiple walls, and the AI doesn’t mess around after the first few matches.
What really makes it stand out is the two-player mode—it turns into this frantic shouting match where you’re both leaning into the screen like it’s an actual arcade cabinet. The music’s got that classic early ‘90s synth energy too, all high-energy beeps that somehow never get old. If you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when you mix Pong with a shot of espresso, this is it.
